March 15 – Palestinians take off to streets calling for Unity and a direct PNC (Palestinian National Council) elections
March – Palestinians continue their sit-in calling for unity and PNC elections. Several went on hunger-strike calling fro the released of political prisoners and the end of media incitement between Fateh and Hamas.
March 30 – Palestinians took off to streets marking the anniversary of Land Day. Protesters were crushed by PA security forces before being crushed again by IOF.
April 5 – Israeli Shabbak assassinates the director of Freedom Theater in Jenin, Juliano Khamees. Palestinians rallied in memory of Juliano. Throughout the year, IOF arrested many members of Freedom Theater in Jenin.
April 13 – Dozens of Palestinians marched towards the PA Muqata’ calling on the PA to meet the demands of the hunger strikers. The protest was crushed. 2 days later, PA met the demands of hunger strikers announcing the end of media incitement and releasing political prisoners.
April 14 – Italian activist Vittorio Arrigoni was murdered in Gaza. Palestinians took of to the streets condemning the murder.
May 5 – Fateh and Hamas signed the reconciliation agreement in Cairo. Protesters took off their sit-in tents and rallied for the implementation of the agreement. Yet to be implemented.
May 13 – 2 days before Nakba anniversary, IOF crushed in ultimate brutality the demonstrations in the West Bank murdering Milad Ayyash in Jerusalem.
May 15 – The Return Marches I – Palestinian refugees marched peacefully throughout Palestine and its borders to practice their right to return home. IOF committed a massacre, murdering dozens, injuring hundreds and arresting dozens others. The day witnessed the return of some refugees who managed to cross the borders from Syria. All returnees were expelled again and went back to being refugees.
June 5 – The Return Marches II – Palestinian refugees marched again to practice their right to return. Another massacre was committed by IOF, murdering dozens, injuring hundreds and arresting several others.
July 2 – Freedom Flotilla II stopped – Greece and Israel cooperated to stop the Freedom Flotilla II before it reaches Gaza shores.
July 8 – Air flotilla (Flytilla) – Activists from around the world arrived at Lydd Airport (a.k.a. Ben Gurion Airport). Hundreds of activists were banned from leaving the airport or arrested.
July 9 – Palestinians marched throughout the West Bank against occupation practices and theft of land. The protests were crushed brutally leaving several injured and others arrested.
August 1 – IOF murdered 2 Palestinians in Qalandia on the first day of Ramadan in a night raid.
August 14 – IOF launched its most violent attack on Gaza in 2011. The attacks left dozens dead (including several children) and several injured. The attacks on Gaza was non stop throughout the year. This year IOF murdered dozens of Palestinian in Gaza.
August 26 – Palestinians marked the last Friday of Ramadan with the Olive Revolution marches. Palestinians marched towards Jerusalem from 4 different directions. Protests were attacked brutally by IOF.
October – Thousands of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation’s prisons started a hunger strike protesting the bad treatment of the prisoners. The prisoners were attacked inside the prisons in an effort to force them to end their strike. Palestinians (including prisoners’ families) rallied in support of the hunger strike. They were also attacked and crushed every time.
October 18 – The first phase of the prisoners exchange deal between Hamas and Israel was implemented. Israel released 477 prisoners in exchange for Shalit. In the next couple of month following the release, IOF arrested more than 480 Palestinians.
November 2 – Flotilla III – 2 boats carrying humanitarian aid attempted to reach Gaza shores. The boats were intercepted by IOF, dozens were arrested.
December 9 – As their brutal crush of protest throughout the West Bank continues, IOF murdered protester Mustafa Tamimi in Nabi Saleh. Mustafa was shot with tear gas canister straight to the face from a close range distance.
December 12 – The Israeli government demolished dozens of Palestinian houses throughout Palestine in 2011.
December 18 – The second phase of the prisoners exchange deal was implemented, releasing 550 Palestinian prisoners.
Settlers terrorist attacks escalated in 2011. Several Palestinians were injured. Many cars torched. Several mosques were torched. Many olive trees were uprooted.
